Bala Town Football Club are saddened to announce the departure of Sean Smith after two spells at Maes Tegid.
Sean joined the Lakesiders in 2014 after departing Wrexham AFC, having already spent half a season at fellow Welsh Premier League side Connah's Quay Nomads. He would spend a season with the Town before returning to the Nomads for a three year spell, before returning to Maes Tegid in 2018.
In Sean's first year back at Maes Tegid, he would end the season as joint top for league appearances alongside Andrew Burns, and repeated the same feat the season after alongside Burns once again.
The full-back would feature in three European campaigns for the Lakesiders, including the Club's historic night out in Malta. He would play the full 90 minutes in the scorching heat of Valletta and helped the team on to a 1-0 win to progress into the Second Qualifying Round of the Europa League for the first time in the Club's history.
The Englishman would prove to be one of the most consistent players in the league, putting his body on the line for the team, and always putting in a 100%.
We would like to thank Sean for his huge contributions to the Club during his time here, and we wish him all the best on his future endeavours.
Diolch Smigg!
