Match Preview: The New Saints vs Bala Town

It’s mid-week action for the Lakesiders, as we head to Park Hall to take on the New Saints in our Nathaniel MG Cup Quarter Final clash, with the winners facing Barry Town in the Semi Final.

The Town played out a fascinating 3-3 draw with Cardiff Met on Saturday evening, with both sides fighting for a vital three points in the race to secure a top six spot, but it would be a share of the spoils in the end.

Our hosts this evening have gone unbeaten in domestic competitions since their defeat to Caernarfon Town in early October. Their last outing would be a 2-1 victory against high flying Haverfordwest County in the JD Cymru Premier despite the Bluebirds going ahead.

Danger Man

Sion Bradley: The Welshman has the most goals for the New Saints in the JD Cymru Premier this season, netting six goals despite not featuring in every match possible. The 26 year old also has two goals in his three domestic cup competition appearances, and will surely look to add to his tally this evening should he get the opportunity.

Previous Meetings

The Town recorded a famous 3-2 win against the Saints at the end of September, as late goals from Alex Downes and Hussein Mehasseb secured the outstanding victory at Park Hall in the JD Cymru Premier. Prior to our meeting, the Town were without victory against the New Saints since August of 2019, with our only win in 5 years coming in a 3-1 victory at Maes Tegid with goals courtesy of Chris Venables and Louis Robles.
