Following last weekend's JD Welsh Cup triumph against Hawarden Rangers, the Town return back to league action with a visit from the League Leaders in The New Saints, who had quite a scare in their respective JD Welsh Cup tie away to Chirk AAA.
The New Saints sit on top of the Cymru Premier tree with 22 points without defeat so far this season, with only one draw coming against Newtown on the opening game of the season. The league leaders did however face a scare last weekend as Chirk AAA of the Cymru North forced their way to a penalty shootout in the JD Welsh Cup. Luckily for the Saints, they managed to be victorious in the shootout and progressed through to the next round.

Danger Man
Declan McManus - The Scotsman is without a doubt the Danger Man for the visitors today, as he sits joint top of the goal scoring list with eight league goals to his name, in his eight league appearances thus far. The Striker has netted a goal in each of his last six league games, and looks to be firing on all cylinders once again this season, after finishing on top of the scoring charts last season. The only positive for the Lakesiders is, in his previous outing against Chirk AAA in the JD Welsh Cup, he managed to miss a penalty during the 90 minutes with his side scraping through to the next round by way of penalties. Although, there’s no doubt the 28 year old will look to put things right in this mammoth fixture today, as both sides look to gain maximum points.
Previous Meetings
The Lakesiders are winless in our last 10 meetings with the New Saints, with our last victory coming in August 2019, as a brace from Chris Venables and one for Louis Robles helped the Town on their way to a 3-1 victory at Maes Tegid. Since then, it's been all doom and gloom for the Lakesiders when coming up againt the Saints, despite each game being a competitive one. Our last meeting was a 1-1 draw at Maes Tegid, as Nathan Peate headed home from a corner to earn the Town a point, cancelling out Jordan Williams' first minute goal.
