For the second time in a week, the Lakesiders welcome Pontypridd United to Maes Tegid, however today's clash takes place in the JD Welsh Cup as both sides battle it out for a place in the Quarter Final stage!

The Town come into today's cup tie on the back of a 0-0 draw against Connah's Quay Nomads in mid-week, while today's visitors have had a week's rest since their 3-0 defeat to the Lakesiders just last Saturday. (H) Haverfordwest County 3-2 - Cymru Premier (H) Penybont 0-1 - Cymru Premier (A) Newtown 4-2 - Cymru Premier Danger Man Ben Ahmun - The 30 year old Forward joined the newly promoted side from Penybont last summer, and has proved to be a handful up top for the opposition. The Welshman has recorded seven goals in 19 league appearances, but is yet to grab a goal in either domestic cup competition this year. Although, Ahmun is coming into today's match with some good form, having been involved in four goals in his last six appearances, including a goal against the Lakesiders at the start of the year, where his opening goal set Ponty on their way for a 2-1 victory. He will no doubt be a threat should he feature in today's cup tie!

Previous Meetings With only three previous meetings between the two clubs, the Lakesiders just about edge it currently, with two wins and a defeat against the South Wales side. The first ever meeting between the two clubs saw the Town run out 5-0 victors in Round Five of the 2021 JD Welsh Cup. The next meeting was only two weeks ago, as Ponty managed a 2-1 victory at the USW Sport Park to start 2023 off for both sides, but the Lakesiders got their revenge a few days later, as the Town secured a 3-0 victory at Maes Tegid.
