Dave Edwards Confirms Departure

Bala Town Football Club can confirm the departure of Dave Edwards from the Club following the release of his statement on his social media platforms on Tuesday.

The former Cymru International departs Maes Tegid after a two year stint at the Club, having signed from his boyhood Club; Shrewsbury Town in 2021.

In his first season at Maes Tegid, Edwards would make his European debut in the Europa Conference League at the age of 35, as the Lakesiders took on Northern Irish side Larne FC in a two legged affair, however it wasn't to be for Edwards and Bala, as Larne progressed with a 2-0 aggregate win.

The Midfielder went on to make 74 appearances for the Lakesiders, including four appearances in European competition, and contributed with 17 goals and four assists. Edwards also helped the Lakesiders triumph in the Nathaniel MG Cup for the first time in our history.

Edwards posted the following on his social media platforms on Tuesday:

"My time at Bala Town has come to an end but what a special two years I have had being part of the club. I didn’t know what to expect when I joined but I have had the best time. I’ve loved playing in the Cymru Premier and made friends for life all whilst rediscovering my love for the beautiful game. Huge thanks to Nigel, Ruth, Colin, all the staff, players and incredible volunteers that make Bala such a special place. Diolch #Lakesiders"

Everyone at Bala Town Football Club would like to thank Dave for his huge contributions to the Club during his two years here, and we wish him all the very best for the future.

Diolch Dave!
