Chief Exex Programme notes v Cardiff Met 03/02/24

A very warm welcome back to Maes Tegid for our first Home League fixture of 2024. It really is a bit of a crazy fixture programme when we now find that we have 5 home matches in the next 6 weeks and not having had one in all January. We however must deal with what is in front of us and the busy period begins today with the visit of Cardiff Met to Bala. As we all know every fixture in this second phase is virtually a “6 pointer” and the momentum which we have achieved in our per split form must be carried on if we are to secure the aim of a European spot. It was a remarkable achievement for us to finish Phase 1 in 3rd spot and 3 points clear of our nearest rivals who happen to be our opponents today. You do not need to be a mathematician to see the importance of the points on offer today!! We also carried a significant number of injuries through the latter stages of the 1st phase and the squad proved its value with some excellent results to take us to this challenging position. We have been able to see some but not all recovered from this injury list but then suffered another set back last week with a bad injury in our Friendly v Colwyn Bay. We have strengthened the squad already but are looking to do more before the transfer window closes next week. As always very exciting times at Maes Tegid and we relish the challenge over the coming months.

Our sponsors are crucial for the Club and we are once again indebted to Williams Homes (Bala) Ltd for their continued superb support and sponsorship of the Club. The continuation of our relationship with such a prestigious North Wales Company is of huge significance to us all at Maes Tegid and we are delighted to have them join us again as our Match Day Sponsors for this crucial JD Cymru Premier League match. The Club are so grateful for this sponsorship and we hope that the guests of Williams Homes will enjoy the afternoon with us at Maes Tegid. Thank you most sincerely for your brilliant support.

On a more serios note our excellent Club Chairman Arwel Roberts has unfortunately been hospitalised with a serious illness. I am delighted to say that he appears to be improving and on behalf of everyone at Maes Tegid we wish TYNANT the speediest of recovery and look forward to seeing him very soon back at the helm of the Club.

As I have said the fixtures come thick and fast. Next Friday evening we welcome League pacesetters TNS to Bala with a 7.45pm ko. We then turn our attention to the prestigious Welsh Cup and a Quarter Final against Flint Mountain. This match will be live on S4C Sgorio with a 12.45pm ko. Your support would be so appreciated for this most important period of our season.

I am personally unable to be with you all this Saturday as I will be far away in deepest China. I will be following as close as possible to all the action from whatever platform is allowed from there and I’m hoping for a happy Chinese New Year present of 3 points!! Thanks as always for your support today at Maes Tegid.

Nigel.
