Chief Exec Programme Notes v Newtown 05/04/24.

Quite amazingly but we arrive at Maes Tegid this Friday evening for our last Home fixture of the 2023/24 season. Not only our last home fixture but it could also be another momentous occasion in the history of Bala Town as we search for yet another European adventure. We need a point to ensure 3rd place in the JD Cymru Premier League and this will now gain European qualification as either TNS or Connahs Quay will win the Welsh Cup!! Other results on the evening could also go our way to ensure this 3rd place finish. It really has been an amazing season and I am so proud of the performances of Colin Caton and the team to enable us to arrive at this exciting situation. We started the season with a greatly changed squad and at times it looked very unlikely that we could challenge for a Euro spot. However the team has got stronger throughout the campaign and we now just need to get over the line to secure a superb achievement once again. I must thank Colin in his 21st year at the helm of our Club and all his Management team for their incredibly hard work in making the season such a success. The continuity of our Management team must be of huge relevance to the continued ability of the team to punch well above their weight and I’m delighted to be a part of that continuity! It is also hugely important to have a brilliant team behind us off the field and in this respect I must emphasise the roll that Ruth Crump plays as our Secretary/Treasurer/ Licensing Manager. We will hopefully once again achieve both UEFA and Domestic licenses and this is not achieved without a tremendous amount of work. Diolch Ruth. The hard work of our Management Committee (Canteen, Hospitality, Raffle, Stewarding, Tannoy, 3G facility, Press and Media) under the auspices of our Chairman Arwel Roberts have also been superb behind the scenes and I must thank each and every one for their magnificent support of our Club. Arwel has been unwell for the last few months and we all wish him the very best as he strives to return to full health after his serious illness. Brysia Well Arwel!! The unseen work which goes on behind the scenes is staggering and I am so proud of each and every person who contributes to the enormous success which we continue to generate. I must also take this opportunity to thank our new Club President Arwel Griffiths for his invaluable support for us throughout the year. The Club are delighted to have Awi on board and thank him for his superb contribution at Maes Tegid.

As always our Sponsors remain the lifeblood of the Club and we are delighted once again to have Robert Foulkes Jones (Foxy) as our Match Sponsor. Foxy has spent a lifetime supporting this Football Club and continues to do so with his most generous sponsorship. We hope you have a great evening with us and perhaps can celebrate a little more by the end of the night. Diolch eto Foxy. Paul Absolom has also very kindly sponsored the Match Ball this evening and we thank him most sincerely not only for this sponsorship but for his support of the Club throughout the year despite the long mileage travelling associated with this support. My sincere thanks to all our Sponsors at the Club for the whole year. We are seriously indebted to you all for your brilliant support.

I must also thank every one of our supporters who have come to Maes Tegid this season. Your support is so important to us all. Diolch Pawb.

We are on the cusp of our 9th European qualification in the last 12 years! Truly amazing!!!!

Nigel.
