Chief Exec Prog Notes - Penybont 11/02/2023

Another chapter in the History book of Bala Town was written last week with the superb winning of the Nathaniel MG League Cup. What a brilliant day it was! What a brilliant achievement to win this prestigious national trophy for the first time against a hugely competitive Connahs Quay side. The Club continue to rewrite the history book and season after season our efforts are rewarded with more silverware. The hangover from the Saturday celebrations resulted in a disappointing but highly predictable defeat in TNS on the following Tuesday and then we had to dust ourselves down again and prepare for last Saturday’s JD Welsh Cup Quarter Final against Briton Ferry. Another excellent performance despite the very tired legs saw us reach another Welsh Cup Semi Final and another milestone reached. These are massively exciting times at Maes Tegid and we all must be so proud of our achievements.

And now today we embark upon the second phase of our League season which reaches its climax with the last 10 matches to be played. Every match will be crucial in deciding the outcome of the League and our aspirations for European qualification. This afternoon we welcome Penybont to Maes Tegid. We have failed to secure a win against them this season with an away defeat and a home draw. We must go one better today to keep our hopes alive. It will be a seriously tough test as will every match in this second phase but confidence is high and we will as always be so committed to our cause.

I only wish we could attract more spectators to our home matches. It is slightly bewildering to understand why the support is so low despite the considerable successes. Regardless to say we will continue to strive to achieve success and put our town firmly in the forefront of Welsh football. Thank you all for your attendance today. Your support is gratefully appreciated.
