Bala Town Football Club can confirm the departure of Will Evans, who makes a big move to League Two side Newport County.
Despite being saddened by his departure, we look forward to following Will's journey with Newport and are delighted to see him making a move into the Football League where we are sure he will succeed.
Will joined the Lakesiders in August 2020 from Cardiff Met, after he spent five years in the Capital as a student, establishing himself as a promising winger at the university club.
The 24-year-old made his competitive debut for the club in the Lakesiders' 1-0 win over Valletta during the First Qualifying Round of the Europa League. Cementing his place in the club's history books following our first ever progression in European competition.
In his first season with the club, Will would make 33 league appearances in total, managing 13 goals in a campaign where the Lakesiders qualified for Europe.
The Welshman struggled at the start of the 2021/22 season, with only two goals in 10 league appearances. Will would battle with injury before picking up some form early this year, as he grabbed three goals and two assists in five league matches. This form led to him being selected to represent the Cymru 'C' Squad in their International Challenge match against England. He would go on to put in a stellar performance against the Three Lions as he scored two superb goals in a 4-0 win, which set him up for a great end to the season.
Following Will's two goals against England, he would better his tally a few days later, as he secured his first senior hat-trick against Penybont in a 5-0 victory for the Lakesiders. He concluded the season with 11 league goals in 24 appearances, which assisted the club in achieving European qualification for the ninth time in our history.
We would like to thank Will for his important contributions during his time at the Club, and we wish him all the best on his latest journey in the Football League.
