Newell departs for Marine

Bala Town Football Club can confirm the departure of George Newell to National League North side Marine.

George joined the Lakesiders in the summer of 2022 and made his first appearance in a Town shirt at Denbigh Town's Central Park, as he scored a brace in a 3-0 victory in a pre-season friendly.

The 28 year old would make just shy of 100 appearances and netted 39 goals during his time at Maes Tegid. George would also be involved in one European campaign, featuring in both legs of our UEFA Conference League First Qualifying Round tie against Estonian outfit Paide Linnameeskond.

Newell would also play a part in the Town's Nathaniel MG Cup triumph in the 2022/23 season, as the Lakesiders won our maiden League Cup whilst in the top division, beating Connah's Quay Nomads on penalties following a 0-0 draw.
