Match Preview: Aberystwyth Town vs Bala Town

The Lakesiders head to Park Avenue for the second time in a week after progressing through to the Fourth Round of the JD Welsh Cup against Aberystwyth Town just 6 days ago.

The Town will look to replicate their JD Welsh Cup result; this time around in the JD Cymru Premier, with the race for the Top Six still wide open. Our most recent league outing was an uneventful 0-0 draw against Pontypridd United at Maes Tegid.

Meanwhile, Aberystwyth will look to avenge their Cup exit, whilst also bouncing back from their mid-week defeat to Newtown, as former Seasider Matthew Jones netted an 81st minute winner to keep Aberystwyth in the relegation zone.

Danger Man

Iwan Lewis: The 30 year old Midfielder has played every minute in the JD Cymru Premier so far for Aberystwyth, scoring two goals in the process. Lewis was a key player for the Seasiders in their bid for survival last season, playing a pivotal role in the Midfield, and regularly playing the full 90 minutes. Lewis is also the joint top scorer for Aber this season, alongside John Owen and Jack Thorn, with two goals each.

Previous Meetings

The Lakesiders were unbeaten in nine meetings with Aberystwyth up until the 27th of September this year, as the Seasiders took the spoils at Maes Tegid in the JD Cymru Premier, with John Owen providing the only goal of the game. The Town returned the favour with a 1-0 victory in the JD Welsh Cup just six days ago at Park Avenue, as an 80th minute goal from Iwan Roberts proved to be the difference.
