Following this morning's announcement of the resignation of our First Team Manager Colin Caton, the Club are moving to swiftly to recruit in preparation for the 2025/26 season.
First Team Manager Job Description:
Job Title: First Team Manager
Location: Bala Town FC, Maes Tegid, Bala, Gwynedd
Reports To: Chief Executive/Secretary
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and strategic First Team Manager to lead and
oversee all aspects of the club’s footballing operations. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for managing the first team, developing a winning philosophy, fostering talent,
and driving both on-field success and off-field professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management & Performance:
Plan and conduct training sessions focusing on fitness, tactics, and skill development.
Select the team and tactics for matches based on performance analysis and opposition strategy.
Motivate and manage players to achieve individual and team goals.
Player Development & Recruitment:
Oversee player scouting, recruitment, and development in collaboration with coaching and scouting staff.
Work closely with the staff to ensure a strong pipeline of talent.
Tactical & Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a clear footballing philosophy and style of play aligned with club culture.
Analyse match performances using data, video analysis, and reports to optimise tactics.
Team Leadership & Staff Coordination:
Manage coaching staff, medical teams, and support personnel, ensuring cohesion and efficiency.
Provide leadership, discipline, and clear communication within the squad.
Media & Public Relations:
Represent the club professionally in media engagements, press conferences, and public appearances.
Act as an ambassador for the club, building positive relationships with fans,
sponsors, and stakeholders.
Compliance & Administration:
Ensure all football operations comply with league rules, health and safety
regulations, and club policies.
Work within budget constraints and liaise with the board on transfer dealings
and resource planning.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven experience as a football manager or head coach at a professional or semi-professional level.
UEFA Pro /A license coaching qualification
Strong leadership, motivational, and communication skills.
Deep tactical knowledge and understanding of the game.
Ability to work under pressure, adapt, and deliver results.
A passion for player development and long-term club success.
