CHIEF EXEC PROGRAMME NOTES V- CARDIFF MET - 07/09/2024

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going” is certainly a motivational phrase that we as a Club need to employ at the moment. I am sure you are all aware of the significant injury list that we carried into our match last Saturday against Penybont and this has only got even worse following our disappointing and undeserved defeat last weekend. We now have 6 senior players sidelined with injury plus the suspension of George Newell after his debatable red card on Saturday. Colin is facing a very difficult period with the squad but we were delighted to be able to add 3 new signings just before the transfer window closed last Friday evening. We are looking forward to seeing Dan Malone, Christian Norton and Hussein Mehasseb on show at Maes Tegid this Saturday as we face a confident and high flying Cardiff Met side on their visit to Bala. This will be another enthralling encounter at the very top level of Welsh Domestic football and it will be a serious test of our playing resource and depth of squad. We welcome Cardiff Met to Maes Tegid and hope that all who have travelled from the capital enjoy their time with us in Bala.

It is a however a non stop band wagon of Home fixtures for the Lakesiders – we follow this afternoon’s match with another JD Cymru Premier League fixture against Aberystwyth on Friday evening ko 7.45 – this is followed quickly by our Nathaniel MG League Cup tie against Holywell on Tuesday 17th September ko 7.45 – and then another JD Cymru Premier match against Newtown on Friday September 20th ko 7.45 – all at Maes Tegid. It is a little bit of a crazy schedule and I can only record our sincere thanks to all our volunteers for all the work they have to do over such a short period.

Thank you for your attendance this afternoon and your continued support for the Club. Diolch. Nigel.
