Chief Exec Progamme Notes v TNS 21/02/25

Our dismal and disappointing start to Phase 2 of the JD Cymru Premier continued when our trip to Cardiff Met ended in another narrow defeat. For some reason our defensive capabilities have deserted us since Phase 1 was completed and we have to significantly improve on this front if we are to continue our impressive record this season against the Champions of last year TNS. We managed an infamous double over our visitors this evening before the split and undoubtedly Craig Harrison’s team will be focussing on revenge for these 2 significant set backs to their defence of the League title. Colin however will certainly not let them have an easy run at securing the 3 points. We ourselves are desperate for points in our attempt to move up the table to secure a more advantageous Play Off position and every point is crucial in the remaining 7 League fixtures. I must also take this opportunity to sincerely congratulate all at TNS for their suoperb achievement in qualifying for the Group stages of the UEFA Conference League. This has given Wales a major boost in our coefficient standings and will enable some extra funding to flow into Welsh football. A brilliant performance!! It promises to be another exciting and entertaining encounter for us all to enjoy this evening against this top team.

It remains equally tough going for us all off the field at Bala Town. Finances are a huge concern especially after the FAW removed all Academy funding from us but left us with the costs to ensure we meet Licensing Criteria. It is very difficult to explain to everyone the problems and challenges which we face but please can I emphasise to you all that Bala Town FC are yet to see a single penny of the extraordinary announcement that the FAW were pumping £6 million pounds into the Cymru Premier. In reality Bala financial assistance from the FAW has gone into reverse and we are far worse off than we were 2 seasons ago!! Very difficult times at Maes Tegid!!

On the financial front I must once again sincerely thank our Club President Arwel Griffiths (Awi) for his most generous sponsorship of this evening’s match. Awi’s commitment, dedication and enthusiasm for our Club is second to none and we are hugely grateful for his superb and continuous support. Please can I also sincerely thank another stalwart of Sponsorship support, Robert Foulkes Jones (Foxy) who very generously again sponsored our last Home match against Caernarfon. Foxy is another who gives everything continuously to help our Club. We are seriously indebted to him for his generosity. Without the tremendous support of our Sponsors this Club would not be able to survive in the highest level of Welsh domestic football and I can only hope that they enjoy the hospitality we have on offer and help bring home the 3 points tonight.

A very warm welcome as always to all attending the match this evening.

Diolch. Nigel.
