Shannon's Late Equalier Grabs A Point

The Town got their first point of the season on Matchday Two, as a late equaliser from Ollie Shannon snatched a point after the visitors grabbed a first half goal through Jack Wilson.

The visitors started off the brightest, with Jordan Davies posing a threat from the off, however the Town slowly grew into the match and had a much stronger second half.

Tough Opening Half An Hour

It was a repeat of the opening weekend for the Lakesiders early on, with our opponents looking the more dangerous on the attack, with Jordan Davies coming close in the opening minutes, but thankfully his effort sailed over the bar.

Jordan Davies again came close with 22 minutes on the clock, and this time he should really have scored, as a mix-up at the back for Bala gave Davies a free shot on goal, but his strike hit the bottom of the post, and was cleared by Nathan Peate.

Jones & Wilson Link-Up

Former Lakesider Henry Jones was all over the pitch, spreading the ball across the pitch and getting his side on the attack, until one of his cross-field passes made its way to Jack Wilson who took the ball down well, and managed to get a shot away with his left foot and tucked the ball into the bottom right hand corner, giving his side the lead.

Bright Second Half Start From Lakesiders

There was a big difference from the Lakesiders in the second half, creating chances straight from the word go, as Lassana Mendes looked a threat down the left hand side, battling well with Jazz Richards.

It was a Bala Town debut for newly signed Soulayman El Amri, as he came on to replace Paul Rutherford, and straight away our new man looked to get forward and was positive on the ball.

Ollie Shannon With The Equaliser!

As the game entered the final ten minutes, the Town kept pushing and pushing for an equaliser, and then it finally arrived! Luke Wall broke away on a counter attack right down the spine of the midfield, and with options to his left and right, he chose the right option and slotted in Ollie Shannon on goal, and despite getting a hand to it, Lewis Brass couldn't keep out Shannon's effort as the ball trickled into the back of the net for the equaliser.

Our attention now turns to Matchday Three on Friday 26th of August, as we host Newtown at Maes Tegid with kick off at 7:45pm, as we aim to collect our first three points of the season.
