A warm welcome to Maes Tegid this afternoon for our first ever competitive fixture against League newcomers Colwyn Bay. Our visitors have made a very successful transition from English League football and are now at the top table of Welsh Domestic football having gained promotion last season from the JD Cymru North. It is a breath of fresh air to welcome them to the JD Cymru Premier and we look forward to hosting their well supported following in Bala this afternoon.
It certainly has been a very difficult period for us on the pitch over the last few weeks. The early season form and undefeated run seems a long time ago as we now are on a run of 4 straight defeats and a distinct lack of ability to score a goal. We have only netted once in these last 4 defeats and clearly this is something which Colin and his team must address as soon as possible. Hopefully the corner will be turned today and that the little bit of luck which deserted us during an excellent performance last Saturday in Newtown will return at Maes Tegid this afternoon. We certainly gave a much improved performance last Saturday and I can only hope that the team will build on that and produce a match winning display this afternoon.
Following the match today we have an intriguing Welsh Cup fixture next Friday evening against Llandudno. Please note this is an 8 pm kick off on Friday the 13th of October. We have been knocked out already of the Nathaniel MG League Cup so this tournament is high on our priority list and it promises to be an exciting match under the lights at Maes Tegid.
I close by once again offering all the supporters from Colwyn Bay a very warm welcome to Maes Tegid. We hope you enjoy our Bala hospitality.
Diolch.
Nigel.
