CHIEF EXEC PROGRAMME NOTES V FLINT TOWN 23/08/24

Another late summer Friday evening at Maes Tegid is upon us as we welcome Flint Town for our 3rd JD Cymru Premier League match of the season. We will come into tonight’s fixture on the back of a very satisfactory start to the campaign having harvested a 4 point haul from the opening 2 games. Both have been extremely hard fought affairs and we are in no doubt that it will be a seriously tough test again this evening. It is however quite apparent that the European campaign has taken it’s toll as we were once again without 4 players for our last match who were sidelined by injury. Also since Europe we have lost 3 of the squad with Josh Ukek returning to Ireland, Dan Clark moving to Llanuwchllyn and Kieran Smith stepping aside to follow a Marathon career. We are bringing in new players but we will need to get to a settled team as soon as possible if we are to sustain another challenge for honours in this most competitive of Leagues. Our latest signings are Kieran Lloyd and Ryan Jones who we warmly welcome to the Club.

Matches are coming thick and fast and we travel to Caernarfon on Monday for another exciting challenge at the Oval. We are then back in Maes Tegid on Saturday 31st Aug for the visit of Penybont and the following Saturday sees the visit of Cardiff Met to Bala.

I must now turn to our Club Sponsors and thank 2 Companies for their consistent and continued support of our Club. Both are well represented in the Match Day Programme today and the sponsorship given by AN RICHARDS LTD and by TEIARS NANT CONWY TYRES is so appreciated by all of us at Maes Tegid. I implore you all to support both these well known North Wales businesses if at all possible. Asmentioned previously we are always grateful for any sponsorship which you may be able to give and we still have many opportunities for Matchday Sponsorship, Player Sponsorship and Baal Sponsorships for the remainder of the season.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the family of BRY ROBS for the donation and installation of the Memorial Bench under the trees at the Ifan Vet end of the ground. It is such a fitting memorial to Bry who spent so much of his time standing underneath the trees watching all the games. Please make full use of his bench as it gives a wonderful view of Maes Tegid.

Thanks as always for your support this evening.

Diolch, Nigel.
