Chief Exec Programme notes v Connahs Quay 1st March 2024

Another warm welcome back to Maes Tegid this evening for the JD Cymru Premier League fixture against Connahs Quay after an eventful and successful 2 weeks since our last match. In that time we have progressed to our 7th Welsh Cup Semi final with an excellent victory over Flint Mountain and then last Saturday secured the priceless 3 points with a stunning away win at Newtown. The success at Newtown has given us a solid platform in our attempt to secure 3rd place in the League which must be our realistic aim looking at the League table as it stands. Ahead of us are our opponents this evening who are looking to secure 2nd place and the resultant European qualificaton. We will face a serious challenge this evening if we are to continue with our excellent run of results but another win will be a huge stepping stone in our own efforts to secure European qualification. We follow tonight’s match with another Home League fixture next Friday evening against Caernarfon. 2 crucial fixtures ahead of us at Bala Town. They are once again very exciting times at Maes Tegid with both League and Cup challenges ahead of us. We are all looking forward to an exciting and entertaining end to this campaign. The date and venue for our Welsh Cup Semi Final against our opponents this evening will be announced in the near future.

Bala Town F.C. were honoured when “Bry Robs” requested for his ashes to be spread in Maes Tegid. At a short ceremony last Saturday morning his family assembled at the spot in the ground where Bry spent so much of his time supporting every aspect of his beloved football in Bala. The Club hope in the near future to place a memorial bench at this spot for us all to remember Bry and his association with Maes Tegid. RIP Bry Robs.

We are delighted that Artisan Windows and Conservatories have again continued their superb support and sponsorship of the Club. The continuation of our relationship with them is of huge significance to us all at Maes Tegid and we are delighted to have this well renowned North Wales Company as our Match Day Sponsors for the match against Connahs Quay this evening. The Club are extremely grateful for their generous sponsorship and we hope that Ian Gibson and his guests will enjoy their evening with us at Maes Tegid.

I am sure that most of our supporters are aware that our Club Chairman Arwel Roberts “Ty Nant” has had a serious illness recently. We are all delighted to know that he is on the road to recovery and send our very best wishes for the earliest possible return to his full health. Brysia yn ol Arwel.

Thanks as always for your attendance this evening. Diolch.

Nigel.
