profile

Antony Kay joined the Lakesiders in August 2020, following his move from National League side Chorley. Kay started his career at boyhood Club Barnsley, where he would eventually sign for the First Team in 1999.

Following eight years at his boyhood Club, he would switch to Tranmere Rovers in League One. He would spend two seasons at Tranmere, in which he was voted Player of the Season for the 2008-09 season, but missed out on the Play-Offs on the final day of the season.

Kay would stay in League One for his next move, as he signed for Huddersfield Town in 2009. During his time at the Terriers, he would help the Club qualify for the Play-Offs three times, and in his final attempt, helped them to the Championship in 2012. His contract with Huddersfield was then cancelled by mutual consent, and would ultimately move to MK Dons.
